Muslims burn churches in Indonesia

Three churches were destroyed in the Indonesian city of Java in clashes which broke out after a verdict to a Christian who was accused of spreading anti-Muslim leaflets was passed, the Jakarta Globe reported referring to AFP.
Muslims burnt churches and clashed with police on Tuesday after the Christian, Antonius Bawengan was sentenced to 5 years in jail. The protestors demanded death penalty.
Violence against religious minorities has recently escalated in Indonesia. Last week members of the Islamic Ahmadiyah sect were attacked.
