Monk priest brutally murdered near Kursk
Kursk, January 11, Interfax – Two residents of the village of Volobuyevo, Kursk region, have been charged with murdering a monk priest, Liliya Kameneva, a spokesman for the region’s Interior Affairs Department, told Interfax.
“On January 3, two young men knocked on the door of the monastery and demanded money or alcohol. Monk priest Efrem let them in. A fight started and the men started swearing. The priest asked them to stop and the men started beating him,” said Kameneva. The priest was found by his driver, a local parishioner, said Kameneva. The dead priest was sitting on the bench and had blood all over him. The suspects were promptly detained.
