Mokbel and Hazim to establish a higher Orthodox Council

A meeting was held Friday between Deputy Prime Minister Samir Mokbel and Patriarch Ignatius IV Hazim of Antioch and all the East for the Greek Orthodox at the Patriarchate in Balamand, whereby the two agreed to establish a higher council for the Orthodox community that cares for their issues at the national level, the National News Agency reported on Friday.
Mokbel confirmed, after the meeting, that he had the full support of the Patriarch, and the forming of a higher council would materialize the soonest possible, the report added.
