Metropolitan Vladimir met President Nicolae Timofti

Moldovan Orthodox Church – 15/7/13

On 11th June 2013, His Eminence Metropolitan Vladimir met the President of the Republic of Moldova, Mr. Nicolae Timofti, at the State Residence in Condrita.

At the meeting, His Eminence Vladimir mentioned again that certain challenging opinions of the clergy do not represent the official position of the Orthodox Church of Moldova.

In his turn, President Nicolae Timofti underlined the role of the Orthodox Church in the establishment of a peaceful and constructive climate in the society, and in this context the representatives of the clergy and the State have the mission to promote positive and conciliating messages in the society.

Continuing the dialogue, His Eminence informed the President about the visit of His Holiness Patriarch Kirill to our country on 7-9 September.

The Metropolitan also invited Mr. Timofti to a meeting with the members of the Synod of the Orthodox Church of Moldova.
