Kottayam-Kerala-India: Metropolitan Mor Thimotheos Thomas of Kottayam is the newly elected Secretary of the Episcopal Synod of the Jacobite Syriac Orthodox Church in India. He holds the title of Naheero (Brilliant) which was granted by the late lamented Patriarch Ignatius Zakka Iwas of Antioch.

Mor Thimotheos has served as the resident Metropolitan of M.S.O.T seminary and he began the pre-marital counseling program for the Syriac Church in India. He is an alumnus of the Goettingen and Erlangen-Nuremberg Universities.
