Athens-Greece: Former Metropolitan and Archbishop Petros – Greek Orthodox Archbishop Petros of Axum and All Ethiopia passed at the Asclepeion Hospital in Athen on the 24th of November 2020. The funeral of the late Prelate will take place at the Church of Panagia Marmariotissa, Chalandri, in Greece on the 26th of November 2020.
He was elected Archbishop of Askum of the Alexandrian Patriarchate in 1972. The prelate also served as the Patriarchal Exarch in the Archdiocese of Kenya and Irenoupolis. He spoke Greek, French, English, and Italian.
In October 2013, Fr Jossi Jacob (Principal, STOTS, Nagpur) George Alexander (Secretary – Orthodoxy Cognate PAGE Society) was received by Metropolitan Petros at his residence.
Greek Orthodox Archbishop Petros of Axum and All Ethiopia receives OCP Secretary
During the visit Met. Petros handed over a rare copy of the Greek Orthodox booklet on the Oriental Orthodox Addis Ababa conference (1965) to Fr Jossi Jacob.
