Metropolitan Amphilochius visits province of Chaco

His Eminence Amphilochius, Archbishop of Cetinje and Metropolitan of Montenegro and the Littoral, the Bishop-Administrator of the Diocese of Buenos Aires and South-Central American of the Serbian Patriarchate, began his three-day visit to the Argentinian province of Chaco on Friday, December 12^th.

His Eminence is accompanied by Archimandrite Kirilo Bojovich, Bishop’s deputy of the Diocese; hieromonk Simeon Lopez, parish priest in Medellin, Colombia; and protodeacon Nikola Radish, president of the Church-school congregation in Buenos Aires as well as protodeacon Igor Balaban from Cetinje. Metropolitan Amphilochius and his delegation were welcomed at the airport in Resistencia by local Serbian priests.

On the same evening, a dinner in Resistencia was given in Metropolitan’s honour. During the dinner possibilities of the construction of a church in Resistencia were discussed since a great number of immigrants live in this city.

The next day, on Saturday, December 13^th, in the church of Holy Trinity of the Orthodox Ukrainian Community of San Bernardo, Metropolitan Amphilochius consecrated the new-constructed Holy table, as well as new veils for Holy gifts, brought as a gift from Montenegro as a donation from nuns of the monastery of Duljevo.

After the visit to San Bernardo, His Eminence paid a visit to the church of Saint George in La Tigra as well, which had been built by a local Ukranian community. In cooperation with this community the Metropolitan organized reconstruction of this church some years ago.

On the same afternoon Metropolitan of Montenegro served feast-day’s vigil service in the church of Saint Nicholas in Machagai. Here he was welcomed by nuns Rebeka and Maria, who have been living in this monastery for several months.
