Meteors: A message from God or just more global warming?

17/2/13

“Is this an effect of, perhaps, global warming…?”

As reported on the Russian news portal RIA Novosti on Feb. 15, 2013, the recent meteor strike that injured over 1,000 was actually a sign from God according to a major Russian cleric.

The Russian Orthodox Metropolitan of Chelyabinsk and Zlatoust, Archbishop Theophan (Sebastian) reassured his flock that as yesterday’s meteor strike in the Russian province of Chelyabinsk showed that man is not in charge, but The Almighty.

As posted on the official Russian Orthodox website, His Eminence stated (in part):

“From the Scriptures we know that using the natural forces of the Lord often gives people the signs and warnings. I think not only for residents of the Urals, but also for all of humanity the last meteor shower is a reminder that we live in a fragile and unpredictable world.

But the natural phenomenon is not a cause for panic and discouragement. Because there are no natural disasters, disease and even death cannot separate us from God.

The only true evil in the world is sin.

Remember, how often do you pray, when was the last time they were in the temple, how your life in the light of God’s Commandments?”

Where’s Bruce Willis and Al Gore When You Need Them…?

Showing her intellectual prowess, CNN anchor Deborah Feyerick recently flexed her brain muscles as she queried Bill Nye “The Science Guy” if an asteroid that was expected to come close to the Earth was actually a result of so-called global warming: (See video below)

“Talk about something else that’s falling from the sky and that is an asteroid.

What’s coming our way?

Is this an effect of, perhaps, global warming or is this just some meteoric occasion?”

There appears to be no truth to the persistent internet rumor that Aerosmith will record Feyerick’s future intro theme on her CNN show.
