Medvedev to meet with Synod Dignitaries
BELGRADE — Russian President Dmitry Medvedev will meet with the members of the Holy Synod of the Serbian Orthodox Church (SPC) during his visit to Serbia.
Belgrade daily Danas writes today that Medvedev is scheduled to meet with the metropolitans and bishops at the Patriarchate on Tuesday afternoon.
The newspaper’s sources however said that there were no plans for the president to visit the ailing head of the Church, His Holiness Patriarch Pavle, who is treated at military clinic VMA.
According to unofficial announcements, Medvedev will also meet with the Moscow Patriarchy representative in Belgrade, but details have not been revealed.
