Skopje-Macedonia: Several sources from Macedonia says that the Holy Synod of the unrecognized Macedonian Orthodox Church has requested Bulgarian Orthodox Patriarchate to be their mother church in case they are granted autocephalous status.
The Holy Synod has requested to restore recognition, communion, and unity between Macedonian and Bulgarian Churches.
The canonically unrecognized Macedonian Church is not in communion with any of the Eastern Orthodox Churches; moreover, it has a very complex relationship with the Serbian Orthodox Church. However, the Macedonian Church has good relations with the Bulgarian Orthodox Church.
