Light Twinkle” Exhibition At The Patriarchal Palace

The “Light Twinkle” icon exhibition organised by the Theological-Educational Department of the Romanian Patriarchate was opened this afternoon at the Patriarchal Palace in the presence of His Beatitude Patriarch Daniel.

Present at the event, the Patriarch of the Romanian Orthodox Church spoke about the importance of the educational projects entitled “Christ shared with the children” and “Chose School!” of the Romanian Patriarchate.

“We are glad because these little angels who are also the artists of this exhibition have gathered here. We see, when looking at this exhibition, that the young people, and especially children, have a special sensitivity for art. One can see their delicateness, spontaneity and perception of the colours, which express life and joy. This programme, which developed a lot, is a missionary work now, a work conveying faith to the new generation of children. We show, through this work, that the Church does not think only of a far off future, but prepares the future using the present. This is why one should not say quite often that the children are the future of the Church. They are the present of the Church too, not only the future. So, the programmes “Choose School!” and “Christ shared with the children” are pastoral educational ones because once they convey the theoretical and practical knowledge they also build spiritual communion among children, communion between children and teachers, and communion between children and Church, between children and the priests who run parishes and who also have families within Orthodoxy.
