Leyla Aliyeva awarded with high order of Russian Orthodox Church

Vice -President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, head of the Foundation in Russia Leyla Aliyeva has been awarded with the Order of St. Olga of the III degree by the order of the Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia Kyrill.
According to the official website of the Astrakhan region astrobl.ru, she won the award for her assistance in installing the monument to Prince Vladimir in Astrakhan and in connection with the 1025th anniversary of the Christianity in Russia, as well as for the many merits in strengthening the friendship between Russia and Azerbaijan.
The Order of St. Olga was established in 1988 to commemorate the 1000th anniversary of Christianity in Russia. This decoration is awarded to women for achievements in various areas of religious, state and public service.
The high status of this award is confirmed by the fact that Order had previously been awarded to the President of the Council of Federation of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation Valentina Matvienko, former Latvian President Vaira Vike – Freiberg, Grand Duchess Maria Vladimirovna Romanova.
