Knesset Committee Recognizes Armenian Genocide

On Monday August 1, the Knesset Committee of Education, Sports and Culture recognized the Armenian Genocide.

The Chairman of the Committee, Member of Knesset Ya’acov Margi (Shas) said that It is “our moral obligation to recognize the Armenian genocide”.

Knesset members Zehava Galon (Meretz), Zouheir Bahloul and Nahman Shai (Zionist Union) and Dov Khenin (Joint List) supported the decision.

The committee called on recognition of the Armenian Genocide by the Israeli Knesset, and in particular on Knesset Speaker Yuli Edelstein. Mr. Edelstein urged Israel to finally recognize the Armenian genocide about a month ago.
