Since the beginning of the Azerbaijani aggression against Artsakh, the Tufenkian Foundation has been working with partner organizations, youth groups and other volunteers to distribute aid to many internally displaced people in different regions of Armenia.
According to data provided by the Artsakh government, more than 35 thousand Armenians from Artsakh have lost their homes because of Azeri occupation. Most of these displaced people are from Hadrut, Martakert, Karvajar, Shushi and Kashatagh regions. The Armenian Authorities and many organizations have been providing humanitarian assistance to these Armenians since the beginning of the war.
The Tufenkian Foundation, through its local partners, youth groups and volunteers, reached thousands of refugees in Yerevan, Armavir, Tavush, Syunik and Shirak regions. Food, clothing, hygiene supplies and other aid was provided to hundreds of displaced families.
Unfortunately, in the foreseeable future, most of these displaced Armenians will not be able to return to their homes in villages and cities of Artsakh because of Azeri occupation. They have no choice but to live in their temporary residences in various parts of Armenia. Today, with the arrival of winter and cold weather, helping these families has become a top priority for our Foundation and many other organizations in Armenia.
Help is urgently needed. These Armenian families have lost their lands, their thousand-year-old villages, their ancestral homes. Let us help them so that they do not lose their hope.
