Details of
June 2010 Summer Programs

St Vladimir’s Seminary opens its doors to the general public next summer. So, June 2010 is your opportunity to sample some of the best theological and practical experiences SVS has to offer. Here are some of the things you might do (follow the links for specific details):

* Attend the Annual Summer Symposium on “Hellenism and Orthodoxy”, featuring His Eminence Demetrios, Archbishop of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America (GOA), as the keynote speaker.

* Explore the opportunities for Continuing Pastoral Formation with a Workshop/Program in Parish Renewal.

* Experience the writings of the early church fathers by studying with our Dean and Professor of Patristics, Archpriest John Behr, in a brand new Academic Program.

* Develop or hone your skills in the popular Russo-Byzantine and Greek-Cretan Iconography Workshops.

* Serve the Church. The highly successful Diaconal Liturgical Practicum will run again (for the fourth year) in extended format, and SVS will also expand the scope of its public instruction in Practical Liturgics.

* Make music. The Music Program is offering young musicians a Youth Liturgical Leadership Institute.

* Brainstorm with other Church leaders in a Christian Education Summit.

* Join other academics at the Annual Georges Florovsky lecture, part of the Orthodox Theological Society of America’s annual meeting.

Join us in faith and fellowship as we “leave the things of earth and soar into the air on wings of thought”! (St. Gregory the Theologian). Please mark your calendars now and plan to be with us. We look forward to welcoming you!
