Indian Orthodox Malankara Community in Dubai Celebrates 50th Anniversary

Dubai- UAE: The St Thomas Orthodox Cathedral based in Dubai is celebrating its 50th anniversary. The Parish Church was established in the year 1968.
The anniversary celebrations were inaugurated by His Holiness Baselios Marthoma Paulose II – Catholicos on the Apostolic Throne of St Thomas and Malankara Metropolitan. The inaugural ceremony was attended by Abdullah Al Suwaidi of the Dubai Economic Council, and Navdeep Singh Surithe, Indian ambassador in the United Arab Emirates. Above 1000 faithful attended the celebrations which included Divine Liturgy, Choir service and public gathering.
The Indian Orthodox Malankara Church traces its origin to St. Thomas the Apostle. It is the largest Orthodox Church in the Indian Sub-continent with more than 2.5 million members worldwide.
