Holy Synod to meet in retreat February 21-24

SYOSSET, NY [OCA] — The members of the Holy Synod of Bishops of the Orthodox Church in America will hold their annual retreat in Santa Fe, NM Monday through Thursday, February 21-24, 2011.
In addition to the opportunity to share in common prayer and fellowship, it is expected that the hierarchs will discuss a number of matters, including the forthcoming spring sessions of the Holy Synod and the Metropolitan Council, the 16th All-American Council, and various pastoral issues.
In addition to the members of the Holy Synod, Archimandrite Matthias [Moriak], Bishop-elect of Chicago and the Midwest, will participate in the retreat. His consecration to the episcopacy and installation are slated to be celebrated in Chicago April 30 – May 1, 2011.
