Holy Cross Church Damaged by Fire in Almaty (Kazakhstan)

Almaty – Kazakhstan: A fire has caused enormous damage on the Holy Cross Orthodox Church in Alma-Ata. The fire has completely destroyed the central dome, the main altar, the iconostasis and the interior decoration. The holy throne remained intact.
Metropolitan Alexander of Astana and Kazakhstan and the head of the the Orthodox Church of Kazakhstan issued an appeal urging support for the restoration of the Church.
