Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin – Armenian Church
On May 3 the Pontiff of All Armenians received a delegation of the clergy from the Evangelical Churches of Baden and Wurttemberg in Germany. The delegation was led by Reverend Manfred Wagner and accompanied by Rev. Fr. Serovbe Isakhanyan from the Armenian Diocese of Germany.
Welcoming the delegation, His Holiness expressed his joy that the delegation wa visiting the Mother See with the support of the Armenian Diocese in Germany. In his remarks, His Holiness reflected on the history and mission of the Armenian Church. “Our Church has overcome numerous hardships and challenges in the past, and we can say that together with the people, she has faced Golgotha for the sake of our faith in Christ. But the Church was resurrected with the help of that same faith… Glory to God that the Armenian Church is living a renaissance.” The Armenian Pontiff recalled his years of education in Venice and spiritual service in Germany.
In his remarks, Rev. Wagner expressed his gratitude to the Pontiff of All Armenians for the warm reception. Also accompanying the delegation was Bishop Dr Milos Klatik, President of the Synod of the Evangelical Church of the Augsburg Confession in the Slovak Republic.
