His Holiness Karekin II Met Youth with Disabilities

Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin

On April 25, in the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin, His Holiness Karekin II, Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians; met with Davit and Hasmik Khachatryan from Ashtarak, who were born with disabilities and are suffering from infantile cerebral paralsy. The children came to receive the blessing of His Holiness before traveling to Canada to receive specialized medical assistance.

According to the request of His Holiness, the treatment of the youth was organized by a joint agreement and support of the Aragatsotn and Canadian Dioceses.

The children were accompanied by His Grace Bishop Mkrtich Proshyan, Primate of the Diocese of Aragatsotn; Rev. Fr. Paren Arakelyan, clergyman responsible for the St. Mariane social centre of the Diocese; Ms. Karine Grigoryan, Director of the center and the children’s mother.

The Catholicos of All Armenians conveyed his Pontifical blessings to Davit and Hasmik, and expressed satisfaction and gratitude to the primates of the two dioceses, noting that they were implementing a pious initiative, enabling the children to regain their health and realize their goals.

His Holiness expressed his wish that with strong faith and optimism the youth will go for their treatment and return home with their health regained.

The Catholicos of All Armenians expressed confidence that with God’s mercy and due to the assistance of a humane society, such measures will again be implemented in the future, so that those who need additional medical care will be able to receive proper care.

At the conclusion, His Holiness prayed for their health, blessed and granted them a cross, and wished them a speedy recovery.
