On Saturday 5 November 2011, Mor Theophilus George Saliba of the Syrian Orthodox Church met with His Holiness Aram I and conveyed a special message from Patriarch Zakka I Iwas.
The visit also provided the opportunity for the Metropolitan to discuss the forthcoming General Assembly of the Middle East Council of Churches to be held 28 November to 1 December in Cyprus.
