His Beatitude Metropolitan Volodymyr Prayerfully Marked His 43rd Anniversary of Bishop Consecration

On July 9, the commemoration of the Icon of the Mother of God of Tikhvin the Primate of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, Metropolitan Volodymyr of Kyiv and All Ukraine marked 43rd anniversary of his bishop consecration.

On the festive day the Primate celebrated the Divine Liturgy in concelebration of 27 bishops of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church and the brethren clergy of Lavra under the open sky – in the square in front of the Far Caves of the Holy Dormition Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra.

After the Liturgy His Beatitude performed the thanksgiving prayer service, following which he greeted the clergy and faithful on the feast of the Tikhvin Icon of the Mother of God.

“I heartily greet you on the feast and extend my sincere gratitude for the prayers. May heavens hear them, may the Lord’s blessing be with all of us for the rest of our life”, noted the Primate.

During the rest of the day Metropolitan Volodymyr received the greetings of the hierarchs, clergy and God-loving flock. After the Divine liturgy the President’s counselor Yuriy Bohutskyi reported the president’s greetings and handed a bunch of live flowers to the Primate.
