His Beatitude Metropolitan Volodymyr Met with President of Ukraine Victor Yushchenko
On Friday, October 23, at the residence of the Primate of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church in the Holy Dormition Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra His Beatitude Metropolitan Volodymyr met with President of Ukraine Victor Yushchenko.
His Beatitude Volodymyr conferred the jubilee order “450 Years of Bringing Pochayiv Theotokos Icon to Volyn” on the President of Ukraine for his assistance in organization and holding of the Archpastoral visit of His Holiness Patriarch Kirill to Ukraine. At the meeting a number of issues concerning church-state relations were discussed.
Taking part in the meeting also were Counselor to the President of Ukraine Yuriy Bohutskyi and Secretary to the Primate of the UOC Bishop Alexander of Pereyaslav-Khmelnytskyi
