His Beatitude Metropolitan Volodymyr Greeted Children with Functional Disabilities on Radiant Feast of Pascha

On April 4, the feast of Holy Pascha, in the territory of the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra (in front of the administrative block of the Kyiv Theological Academy and Seminary) the paschal action of social aid to children with functional disabilities and their parents was held.
Taking part in the action were the specialists of social work, volunteer workers, students of the Kyiv Theological Schools. The action organizers were the Ukrainian Orthodox Church and the Kyiv city center of social service for the family, children and youth of the executive body of the Kyiv city council.
Addressing the guests with the words of greeting were the Primate of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church His Beatitude Metropolitan Volodymyr and deputy city mayor Alla Shlapak.
The Archpastor greeted the children on the feast of Pascha and wished them good health, grace of Christ Resurrected and peace in every child’s soul.
At the end of the action the children received from the Primate’s hands the small icons of Resurrection of Christ, soft toys and paschal presents.
Also the children offered the panel decorated by multicoloured Easter eggs they made themselves as a present to the Primate.
During the action the choir of the Kyiv Theological Academy and Seminary under the guidance of hegumen Roman (Pidlubnyak) entertained those present with paschal chants.
The guests were given a tour of the Kyiv Caves Monastery, in the course of which they bowed unto the Bethlehem Icon of the Theotokos, brought to Ukraine a day before.
