His Beatitude Metropolitan Volodymyr delivered an icon and a part of relics of the Holy Hierarch Luke of Crimea to the Holy Transfiguration Parish

On February 13, commemoration of the saints of Rus of the ХХ century, who suffered for Christ, His Beatitude Metropolitan Volodymyr of Kyiv and All Ukraine celebrated the Divine Liturgy at the Holy Transfiguration Church (Teremky 2, Kasyana 1).
Concelebrating to him were: rector of the Kyiv Theological Schools, archbishop Anthony of Boryspil, Secretary for the Primate of the UOC archbishop Alexander of Pereyaslav-Khmenytskyy, chairman of the Synodal Department for Medicine Bishop Filaret of Drohobych, dean of the Kyivan churches archpriest Vitaly Kosovskyy, the church clergymen.
Praying at the Divine service also was chairman of the Kyiv regional state administration Oleksandr Popov.
Before the beginning of the service the Primate of the UOC offered an icon of the holy Hierarch Luke of the Crimea (Voyno-Yasenetskyy) and a reliquary with a piece of his honorable relics. The shrine will remain permanently in the church.
At the Divine Liturgy the Archpastor prayed for the repose of all those deceased who suffered for the faith of Christ in the time of persecutions.
At the end of the service Metropolitan Volodymyr greeted the worshippers on the feast and invoked the God’s blessing on those attending.
Thereafter the rector of the Holy Transfiguration Church, His Eminence Alexander, Archbishop of Pereyaslav-Khmelnytskyy thanked the Primate on behalf of the clergymen and parishioners present for the gifts delivered to the church.
“Today, when the church prayerfully remembers and honors all the confessors for the faith of Christ, who suffered in the years of persecutions, by Your mercy and on Your blessing a piece of relics and an icon of the Holy Hierarch Luke of the Crimea were delivered to this church, who was actually the manifestation of that epoch and that ministry, that model, as St Nicholas was the model of faith and the image of lenity”. Your Beatitude, today, celebrating together with you the memory of those people, some of whom are already glorified, some are not yet, but we remember prayerfully all of them, thanking You too, for You were born in those times and know by own experience, and walked the same confessor way the saints walked, who ended their lives, confessing Christ by their blood”, noted His Eminence Alexander.
At the end, His Beatitude Volodymyr prayerfully venerated the relics of the Holy Hierarch Luke of the Crimea.
