His Beatitude Daniel Opened The National Annual Consultation Of The Religion Inspectors

On 6 September 2010, His Beatitude Daniel, Patriarch of the Romanian Orthodox Church, participated in the National Consultation of the Religion Inspectors, an event organised from 5 – 7 September, at the Theological Academy at “Brâncoveanu” Monastery, Sâmbăta de Sus, informs “Lumina” newspaper.

Yesterday, before opening the working session of the consultation, His Beatitude Patriarch Daniel, accompanied by His Eminence Laurenţiu, and by archimandrite Ilarion Urs, abbot of the Monastery close to Braşov city, prayed in the old Brâncovean church inside the monastic settlement. Here, the Primate of the Romanian Orthodox Church blessed the monastic community and went to the graves of the Transylvanian Metropolitans Antonie Plămădeală, Nicolae Mladin, Nicolae Bălan and Nicolae Colan. In the Rotunda of the Theological Academy, where the meeting of the religion inspectors from all over the country took place, the Primate of our Church spoke about the importance of keeping the Religion class in schools, about the mission of the religion teachers as well as about the inconceivable positive effects of the religious education in society.

The Primate of the Romanian Orthodox Church has also emphasised the fact that the Christian education is the greatest investment, showing that the religion class is a holy mission: “The Religion class is a discipleship, a holy apostolic mission, namely a dispatch from God to form souls, in communion with God and with all the generations of saints of all times. This formation of the young people, of the children, in the Christian faith is very important, because we do not think that it has ever been a greater investment in Romania than conveying faith as eternal value.”

The visit of the Primate of the Romanian Orthodox Church to Sâmbăta de Sus Monastery ended with a call to the shop of church books and objects and to the grave of Rev. Teofil Părăian. Vasile Timiş, state secretary in the Ministry for Culture, and Cătălin Pâslaru, religion general inspector, have been present at the consultation held at Sâmbăta de Sus Monastery.
