Alexandria- Egypt: Egyptian President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi has approved the allocation of land (nearly 6,000 square) to the Alexandrian Patriarchate in the new Egyptian administrative capital which is under construction since 2015 in the Cairo Metropolitanate. The Patriarchate will build a multicultural center which will welcome all people regardless of their religious beliefs and ethnic and national affiliation.
Pope and Patriarch Theodore II of Alexandria and All Africa visited the site where he was cordially welcomed by the authorities. “The new center of orthodoxy in the New Administrative Capital will also be the shining beacon for the missionary activity of the patriarchate in our long-suffering continent” stated Patriarch Theodore during his visit.
