Gevorkian Theological Seminary Begins Offering Postgraduate Education in Theology

The Gevorkian Theological Seminary of the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin received postgraduate graduation accreditation, according to decision № 987 A/2 issued on October 6, 2016 by the Minister of Education and Science of the Republic of Armenia.
As a result of long-term hard work, a new page opens in the history of the Gevorkian Seminary, starting with the 2017-2018 academic year. The Seminary begins offering postgraduate education in the field of theology. The aim of the postgraduate study is to promote the development of the field of theology; to ensure the presence of highly qualified scholarly clergymen and laymen in the theology sector in the Republic of Armenia, as well as for the implementation and development of scientific research in the field of theological sciences.
The admission to the 4-year Postgraduate program of the Gevorkian Theological Seminary of Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin is competitive, and is based on an applicant’s qualifications. All those children of the Armenian Apostolic Holy Church who have a master’s degree, or certification as a qualified specialist, can apply to the Postgraduate Study. The Post-Graduate Degree operates without the right to a compulsory military service. The Postgraduate program in the 2017-2018 academic year will be implemented remotely. The annual fee for the postgraduate education is 300,000 (three hundred thousand) drams.
To apply for the Postgraduate education program, a person’s application can be submitted to the Gevorkian Seminary Secretariat, or online at the Gevorkian Seminary website, and must include the following documents:
1. CV
2. Passport copy
3. Photo (3×4 size)
4. Baptism certificate
5. Bachelor’s and Master’s degree diplomas and their transcripts
6. Attestation certificate of a foreign language, as well as transcripts and informational narrative on the subjects certification or the relevant reference:
a. English – TOEFL (iBT), 46 and IELTS 5.5 points
b. French – “TCF” – 200 points
c. German – “on DaF”, 60 points
d. Transcripts and information-communication bases – 25 points
e. Written scientific work within theological sciences (published or unpublished, pdf or word format).
The annual fee for the four-year research program in the remote Postgraduate study is three hundred thousand (300,000) AMD.
Documents for the post-graduate students are accepted in-person from October 1 to December 1, 2017, every day except Saturday and Sunday, from 10:00 – 16:00.
