Gethsemane Convent Celebrates its Feast Day of St Mary Magdalene, Equal-to-the-Apostles

On Thursday, August 4, 2016, the feast day of St Mary Magdalene, Equal-to-the-Apostles, His Eminence Archbishop Mark of Berlin and Germany, Overseer of the Russian Ecclesiastical Mission in Jerusalem, celebrated Divine Liturgy in Gethsemane Convent along with Archimandrite Roman (Krassovsky), Chief of the REM, the mission clergymen and visiting clerics. At the end of service, Abbess Elizabeth and her nuns offered a trapeza luncheon at the “Royal church” of the convent.

His Beatitude Patriarch Theophilos III of Jerusalem and All Palestine honored the convent by praying at the service, delivering a sermon and offering the blessing from the Life-Bearing Sepulcher of the Lord to the clergymen, nuns and pilgrims in attendance.
