First Hierarch of the Russian Church Abroad Arrived to Ukraine
On May 7 the First Hierarch of the Russian Church Outside of Russia Metropolitan Hilarion of Eastern America and New-York arrived to Ukraine with an official visit.
Upon arrival to the capital of Ukraine Metropolitan Hilarion attended the Holy Dormition Kyiv Caves Lavra, where he met with His Beatitude Metropolitan Volodymyr at the UOC Primate’s residence.
In the course of conversation His Eminence Hilarion conveyed greetings from the clergy and the flock of the Russian Orthodox Church Outside Russia, and thanked for the opportunity of staying in Ukraine and taking part in the festivities that the Ukrainian Orthodox Church is going to celebrate.
In his turn, His Beatitude Metropolitan Volodymyr welcomed the high guest on his arrival to Ukraine and gifted him a paschal egg, the bishop’s cross and panagia.
The First Hierarch of the Russian Orthodox Church also prayed at the home church in honor of the Holy Hierarch Nicholas the Wonderworker at Metropolitan’s apartment.
The visit of Metropolitan Hilarion of Eastern America and New-York to Ukraine will continue from May 7 through 20.
