Fiftieth Anniversary of the Election and Enthronement of the Late Patriarch Maxim of Bulgaria

Sofia-Bulgaria: The 4th of July, 2021 marked 50 years since the election and enthronement of Bulgarian Patriarch Maxim. Patriarch Maxim was elected the head of the Bulgarian Church on the 4th of, 1971, following the demise of Patriarch Kiril of Bulgaria.
Bulgarians consider Patriarch Maxim contributed a lot in strengthening Orthodox unity as well as the Bulgarian Church. He passed away on the 6th of November 2012.
