Starting from February 7, Rector of the Kyiv Theological Academy and Seminary, Archbishop Anthony of Boryspil stays on official visit to the USA, where at the blessing of His beatitude Metropolitan Volodymyr he takes part in the festivities on the occasion of the Commencement of Holy Trinity Seminary in Jordanville.
On February 8 the meeting took place between the Primate of the Orthodox Church in America, His Beatitude Metropolitan Jonah, Archbishop of Washington, Metropolitan of All America and Canada with the Rector of the Kyiv Theological Academy and Seminary.
In the course of conversation the issues of cooperation of the educational establishments of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church and the Orthodox Church in America were discussed. Taking part in the meeting also were: archpriest Alexander Garklavs, archpriest Leonid Kishkovsky, dean of Holy Trinity Seminary archdeacon Vladimir Tsurikov and assistant to Rector of the KTA&S Andriy Romanov.
That day on the premises of the Holy Synod of the Russian Orthodox Church Abroad the meeting of Archbishop Anthony with the First Hierarch of the ROCA Metropolitan Hilarion of East America and New-York.
On February 9 the Kyiv Theological Schools Rector called to the Convent of the Holy Dormition in Novo-Diveevo, where he met with hegumeness Irene and the nuns. Archpriest Alexander Fedorov conducted excursion in the territory of the monastery, telling of its history. By the way, in the monastery cemetery the prominent church activists are buried, among which are Archbishop Andriy Rymarenko and archpriest Seraphim Slobodsky (author of the popular book “The Law of God”).
On February 10 there was a meeting between Archbishop Anthony of Boryspil with the students and teachers of Holy Trinity Seminary, in the course of which Vladyka told of the life of the Kyiv Theological Schools and answered numerous questions.
The official visit of the KTA&S Rectorto the United States will be over on February 14.
