Feast of the Holy Trinity at the Romanian Patriarchate

This year, on 9 June, the Orthodox Church celebrates the feast of the Holy Trinity. On this day the Press Centre of the Romanian Patriarchate celebrates its dedication day. The employees of the Press Centre of the Romanian Patriarchate prayed at the Divine Liturgy and at the Te Deum service celebrated in the Patriarchal Cathedral.

The Divine Liturgy was celebrated by: Rev Archimandrite Teofil Anastasoaie, great ecclesiarch of the Patriarchal Cathedral, Patriarchal Counsellor Nicolae Dascalu – coordinator of Basilica Press Centre and General Director of “Lumina” publications, Rev Constantin Stoica, Patriarchal Counsellor – Press Centre of the Romanian Patriarchate, Rev Ciprian Apetrei – Patriarchal Counsellor Basilica News Agency and Rev Protosingel Ioachim Bejenariu, Director of the Market Department of the Archdiocese of Bucharest.

During the Te Deum that followed the coordinating priests of the press centre thanked God, together with the employees of the of the five centre branches, for all the boons bestowed over them and over their entire activity.

To end with the service, Rev Patriarchal Counsellor Nicolae Dascalu – Coordinator of Basilica Press Centre read the message of His Beatitude Daniel, Patriarch of the Romanian Orthodox Church, for the celebration of the dedication day of Basilica Press Centre of the Romanian Patriarchate entitled Basilica Press Centre, media identity and missionary vocation in society.

Basilica Press Centre was set up at the initiative of and with the blessing of His Beatitude Daniel, Patriarch of the Romanian Orthodox Church, on 27 October 2007. Basilica Press Centre of the Romanian Patriarchate has five branches: Trinitas Radio, Trinitas TV Television, “Lumina” newspaper, “Lumina de duminica” weekly newspaper, “Vestitorul Ortodoxiei” monthly magazine, Basilica News Agency and the Press Office.

There are two festive moments every year when the employees of Basilica Press Centre gather at the thanksgiving meal: feast of the Holy Trinity (next day after the Pentecost) and 27 October, feast of Saint Pious Dimitrios the New of BasarabiProtector of Bucharest, anniversary of the setting up date of the Centre.

The feast of the Holy Trinity is celebrated in the Orthodox Church on the Monday after the feast of the Feast of the Descent of the Holy Spirit. In the 12th century, this feast was not generalised yet in the West, having been established in the here in 1334.
