Feast of Exaltation of the Precious and Life-Giving Holy Cross

On the Feast of Exaltation of the Precious and Life-Giving Holy Cross of the Lord the UOC Primate conducted worship in the Church of Exaltation of the Holy Cross of the Kyiv Caves Monastery.

On September 27, the Feast of Exaltation of the Precious and Life-Giving Holy Cross of the Lord His Beatitude Metropolitan Volodymyr celebrated the Divine Liturgy in the Church of Exaltation of the Holy Cross in the territory of the Near Caves of the Holy Dormition Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra.

Concelebrating with His Beatitude were Deputy Abbot of Lavra Archbishop Pavel of Vyshgorod and brethren clergy of the monastery.

Upon completion of the service the Primate bowed unto the Cross and the Wonderworking Icon of the Dormition of the Mother of God.

In the end Metropolitan greeted the clergy and faithful on the feast and said:

“May the power of the Holy Cross accompany us through all the hardships of our life, sanctifying and strengthening us, so that we could accomplish our life journey worthily and piously and achieve the eternal life.”

On the eve of the feast, the Archpastor presided over the vesper service in the Refectory Church (of Sts Anthony and Theodosius) of Lavra. At the end of the liturgical service His Beatitude Performed the rite of Exaltation of the Holy Cross, which is an inalienable part of the divine service of the feast of Exaltation of the Holy Cross of God.
