Ethiopian Orthodox Pilgrims Visit the Malankara Church

Ethiopian Student Pilgrims with Metropolitan Mar Disocoros Yuhanon of Chennai

Malankara- India: Over a hundred student pilgrims from the Ethiopian Tewahedo Orthodox Church is on a visit to the ancient Malankara Church (23rd January to 29th January). The student pilgrims visited various Churches and centers of the Orthodox Syrian Church of the East. They attended the Divine Liturgy at the Catholicate Palace, Kottayam. The pilgrims performed the traditional Ethiopian Orthodox Hymns using musical instruments.

Ethiopian Orthodox presence in India is growing. A considerable number of Ethiopian students are engaged in higher education in places like Pune, Chennai and Banglore.
