Eastern and Oriental Orthodox Primates attend Funeral Service of late Patriarch Ignatius Zakka Iwas in Lebanon:Mortal Remains moved to Syria

Beirut: Pope Tawadros II , Patriarch John X of Antioch and Catholicos Aram I of the Armenian Orthodox Church at the Funeral Service of late Patriarch Ignatius Zakka Iwas in Lebanon.  Locum Tenens Archbishop Mor Severios Hawathe of Baghdad and Catholcos Abune Baselios Thomas I led the funeral service along with other Metropolitan’s.

Several dignitaries from different walks of life  and prelates from Roman Catholic and other Churches attended the funeral service. Prayers were offered in different languages of Syriac, Malayalam, Arabic and English.

The Mortal have been taken to  St. George Cathedral in Bab Touma, Damascus, Syria  by road.  On  28 March 2014, Friday, final funeral service held and the mortal remains will be placed in the tomb at St. Ephrem the Syrian Monastery in Ma’arrat Saydhaya in Damascus.
