The Distribution Ceremony of the Orthodox Awards for the year 2012 took place at the grand council hall of Christ the Saviour Cathedral on 21st January 2012. This year the prestigious award was presented to the Palestinian leader Mahmoud Abbas. The award has been constituted on behalf of the International Fund for the Unity of the Orthodox Peoples the ceremony was lead by His Holiness Patriarch Krill of Moscow and All Russia.
What a sad display of pandering. The only thing I can say good about Abbas is that he returned property that belonged to someone else. Otherwise, he is a supporter of terrorism. He is more subtle than Hamas, but his goal is all the same, the implementation of Sharia law in an Islamic state. Just look at the school curriculum in the PA, which glorifies the killing of Jews and does not recognize Israel. He has named public squares after terrorists, who killed innocent civilians. I have no words for this travesty.
