Delegation of the Japan-Armenia Parliamentary Friendship League Visited the Mother See

Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin – September 2016

On 02 September 2, Mr. Seishiro Eto, Chairman of the Japan-Armenia Parliamentary Friendship League, and his delegation, visited the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin. They were accompanied by the Ambassadors of the two countries.

His Eminence Archbishop Nathan Hovhannisyan, Director of the External Relations and Protocol Department of the Mother See welcomed the guests, conveying to them the blessings and greetings of His Holiness Karekin II, Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians.

Praising the relations between the Armenian nation and Japan, Archbishop Nathan expressed joy that there is a group in the Japanese parliament whose members see themselves as friends of Armenia. “We attach a great importance to such visits, which enable our friends to see the real Armenia. Today we, as a young state, but citizens of a country with a history of thousands of years, want to tell the world the truth about us”, said His Eminence, stressing the importance of the role of the Armenian Apostolic Holy Church in this mission.

His Eminence expressed gratitude to the members of the delegation for Japan’s friendly attitude and support towards Armenia during the years of independence.

Mr. Eto expressing reverence toward the spiritual and cultural values of the Armenian nation expressed gratitude for the service organized by the Armenian Church in memory of the victims of the Japanese earthquake of 2011.

Highly appreciating the friendly and cooperative Japan-Armenia relations. Mr. Eto expressed hope that mutual efforts will further strengthen the relations between the two countries.
