Delegation of Radio Television of Serbia visits Serbian Patriarch

Serbian Patriarchate, 28 January 2013 – His Holiness Irinej, Serbian Patriarch, in the presence of Their Graces Bishops Atanasije of Hvosno and Porfirije of Jegar, met at the Serbian Patriarchate with Mr. Aleksandar Tijanic, General Director of the Radio Television of Serbia with closest associates: Mr. Nikola Mirkov, Director of the Television of Belgrade and Mr. Slobodan Markovic, President of the Managing Board.

The representatives of this public radio and TV broadcaster informed Serbian Patriarch Irinej about the role of the Radio Television of Serbia as the main bearer of culture and information, particularly with the respect to preservation and affirmation of the religious and cultural heritage of the Serbian people, as well as other peoples who live in Serbia. One points out with pride that RTS is the only electronic media that broadcasts its programs exclusively in Cyrillic, and possibly is the only one in the region and beyond, that broadcasts daily a program with religious content.

His Holiness is also informed about the program content of the Radio Television of Serbia related to the marking of 1700th anniversary of the Edict of Milan on religious freedom.
