Delegation of Damascus Bishops Received in the Mother See

Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin- Armenian Church
On May 18, His Holiness Karekin II, Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians received a delegation of bishops of the Christian Churches of Damascus in the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin. The delegation was led by His Grace Bishop Armash Nalbandian, Primate of the Armenian Apostolic Holy Church in Damascus. The delegation will stay as guests of the Mother See for one week.
Welcoming the guests, His Holiness presented the current activities of the Mother See and the issues and challenges facing the Armenian Church. His Holiness stressed the importance of close cooperation and joint efforts in resolving problems and overcoming obstacles.
“It is a great pleasure for us to experience this warm and friendly atmosphere that exists among the Primates of the Christian Churches in Damascus. We witnessed this brotherly environment a year ago in Damascus during our Pastoral visit to Syria, at the invitation of President Bashar al-Assad of the Syrian Arab Republic. This brought joy and happiness not only to our sons and daughters, but to all the Christian communities of your country.
We are happy that this fraternity led you to our Biblical country – Armenia, to the center of our faith where Christ descended from Heaven – the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin. This is a good approach and a testimony to all the Christians worldwide and the entire world. We hope that in this world full of hardships and difficulties we can confront the challenges and find resolution to issues through joint efforts and zealous commitment. During your visit, you will have an opportunity to pray in our Churches and witness the love and faith of our nation towards our Heavenly Teacher and His Holy Gospel. We welcome you again to the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin and pray that the Omnipotent God protect and bless our two countries and nations”.
Present for the reception was also His Grace Bishop Hovakim Manukian, Office Director of the Inter Church Relations Department of the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin.
