Dayro d-Slibo: New Syriac Orthodox Monastery in Sweden

On October 1st, 2019, His Holiness Patriarch Mor Ignatius Aphrem II received the keys of the property of Dayro d-Slibo, the new monastery for the Syriac Orthodox Patriarchate in Sweden.
After completing the official papers for the property, His Holiness visited the premises of the new monastery. Their Eminences the Archbishops: Mor Dioscoros Benjamen Atas, Patriarchal Vicar in Sweden, Mor Philoxenus Yusuf Cetin, Patriarchal Vicar in Istanbul and Ankara, Mor Dionysius Issa Gurbuz, Patriarchal Vicar in Switzerland and Austria, as well as many priests and laypeople, were also present at this historical event.
His Holiness prayed the service (teshmeshto) of the Virgin Mary, the Saints, and the Holy Cross; he blessed the faithful who were present at this solemn occasion. Dayro d-Slibo is the first Syriac Orthodox Monastery in Sweden.
