Cultural Event Dedicated to the Memory of Rouben Sevak
Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin – March 2016
On February 28, in the Rouben Sevak Museum, with the blessings of His Holiness Karekin II, Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians; a commemorative event was held, dedicated to the memory of the martyred poet.
Rev. Fr. Sevak Saribekyan, Director of the museum, gave opening remarks. Following the remarks, a Shoghakat TV film was shown, dedicated to the life and martyrdom history of Rouben Sevak.
Mr. Serzh Srapionyan, Deputy Minister of Diaspora delivered a speech, entitled “Mystical poet Ruben Sevak”.
During the event, Republic of Armenia Distinguished Artist Mrs. Silva Yuzbashyan recited compositions of Rouben Sevak, Daniel Varoujan, Siamanto (Atom Yarjanian), Misak Metsarents, and William Saroyan.
The young musicians of the “Armenia’s New Names” program performed musical selections.
The commemoration event concluded with the blessing remarks of His Grace Bishop Vardan Navasardyan, Director of the Christian Education Center.
