COVID-19 – Statement from George Joseph – Chairman of the OCP Society

Global: Spreading any decease anywhere is unfortunate, but such events are unavoidable among the creations as we have experienced on many occasions. There is no need to probe into them now, but we should not overlook the learning points from them. The present threat of *Covid 19* is no exception and rather unusually, it has been spreading all over the world.

As creations of God, we have a responsibility to address this calamity. We are well aware there is only one source from where we obtain a solution. That source is our Almighty God. Let us prostrate before Him like the people of Nineveh and lament before Him. Let us not accuse any individual who travels from abroad for being a carrier for he never thought, he would transmit the virus.

Let us empathize with all those who suffer from this. There is no need to explore reasons behind this, but the greed of men and women to grow faster than others this way or that way looks like a contributing factor. Let us be courageous to practice *minimalism* in life. Let us not stay away from prayers. Remember, *Or those eighteen who died when the tower in Siloam fell on them – do you think they were more guilty than all the others living in Jerusalem?*So let us repent and seek His mercy.
