Coptic Church Egyptian symbol that can never be touched

President Mohamed Morsi sent a delegation to meet a number of the Coptic Orthodox Church (COC) officials to discuss repercussions of the recent clashes between Muslims and Copts.
The delegation included the President’s Assistant for Community Outreach, Dr. Emad Abdel Ghafour, Assistant for Political Affairs, Bakinam el-Sharqawi, and Assistant for Egyptian Expatriates’ Affairs, Counselor Ayman Ali.
The delegation conveyed a message from the Presidency that the COC is an Egyptian symbol that can never be touched.
The message also conveyed President Morsi’s keenness on preserving the church, stressing that law will be applied and perpetrators will be brought to justice.
The delegation reiterated that the recent tragic incidents should lead to adopting policies that uproot the problem and prevent its recurrence, a Presidency statement added.
The delegation underlined the need to rally efforts to put forward a preventive strategy to maintain national unity.
On the other hand, Pope of Alexandria and Patriarch of Saint Mark Diocese Pope Tawadros II has decided to go into seclusion at Bishoy Monastery in Wadi El Natroun. So, he canceled his weekly sermon that was scheduled for Wednesday 10/4/2013, and he would not receive mourners of the victims of al-Khosous incidents as was scheduled for Thursday.
