Construction of Doha’s (Qatar) First Ethiopian Orthodox Church Begins

Doha-Qatar: The Ethiopian Orthodox Church has commenced the construction of the first-ever Church building in Qatar. An agreement was signed between the Ethiopian Orthodox Church and Al-Khalij Constructions in the presence of the ambassador’s of Ethiopia and Hungary on the 22nd of January 2021.
The Church building will stretch over an area of 537 square meters and will cost around 13.5 million Qatari riyals. The Ethiopian Ambassador to Qatar, Samiya Zekria congratulated the Church representation for beginning the construction. In response, the Ethiopian Church representation thanked Emir Tamimim Bin Hamada of Qatar as well as the local embassies of Ethiopia and Hungary in Qatar, the faithful, and other supportive institutions.
Ambassador Barnabas Fodor of Hungary promised his support until the successful completion of the construction project. He also urged the faithful to enthusiastically support the building by earnest prayer, labour, and financial contributions.
