Consecration Of The Romanian Church In Most

On 9 October 2011, 09.30 hours (Romania’s hour), His Beatitude Daniel, Patriarch of the Romanian Orthodox Church, consecrated the Romanian Orthodox church in Most locality, Czech Republic, together with His Beatitude Metropolitan Krystoph of the Orthodox Church of Czech Republic and Slovakia. The group of hierarchs also included His Eminence Casian, Archbishop of Lower Danube and His Grace Ciprian Campineanul, Assistant Bishop to the Patriarch, assisted by a group of priests and deacons.

After celebrating the consecration service, His Grace Ciprian Campineanul, Assistant Bishop to the Patriarch, read the consecration document.

Further on, the Primate of the Romanian Orthodox Church delivered a speech in which he emphasised the fact that on this occasion, all the faithful can enter the Holy Altar – informs Trinitas Radio station.

“It was by God’s grace that we could finish this consecration of the church of the Romanian heroes who sacrificed themselves for the liberation of the Czech lands and Slovakia. According to our tradition, all the Orthodox faithful, both men and women, can enter the Holy Altar today, till midnight, where they may kiss the Holy Gospel, Holy Cross and Holy Table and pray Christ, our Lord, to deify their lives the same as He consecrated this church”.

Daniela Gatman, Romanian Ambassador in Prague, Eugen Tomac, State Secretary for the Department of the Romanians from Everywhere, Adrian Lemeni, State Secretary for Religious Cults, General Lieutenant Ion Oprisor, Secretary for the Supreme Council of National Defence within the Presidential Administration, the mayor of Most city, other Czech officials, as well as tens of Romanian Orthodox faithful in the Czech Republic attended the consecration service.

The church in Most locality, Czech Republic, was built in the memory of over 66,000 Romanian soldiers who fought for the liberation of Czechoslovakia from under the Nazi occupation during the World War II.
