Consecration of Holy Mooron

Thousands of the faithful children of the Malankara Orthodox Syrian Church filled the compound of the Catholicate Palace. His Holiness the Catholicos, assisted by His Beatitude the Catholicos Designate along with the members of the Holy Episcopal Synod consecrated Holy Mooron. This blessed service is unlike any of the other services of our liturgical tradition. This service requires 12 priests ,12 full deacons and 12 sub deacons. Several Chorepiscopi and Monastics also assisted in this sacred service. The prayers, scripture readings and sacred chants filled the hearts of the faithful during this rich service. As the Holy Church consecrates Holy Chrism, our Shepherd in Christ, Moran Mar Baselius Marthoma Didymus I, prays that the Church and her faithful may be consecrated and renewed by the Holy Spirit. May the Holy Spirit fill the Church, each diocese, each parish, each monastery and each and every faithful member of the Malankara Orthodox Syrian Church. Let us all faithfully receive the gifts of the Holy Spirit and work to build up Christ’s Holy Church.
