Consecration of Armenian Chapel in Afghanistan
Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin
On July 24, with the blessing of His Holiness Karekin II, Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians, His Grace Bishop Vertanes Abrahamian, Head Chaplain of the Republic of Armenia Armed Forces left for the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan with the delegation led by Mr. Seyran Ohanian, RA Minister of Defense.
While in Afghanistan, His Grace Bishop Vertanes will offer the service of consecration for the Armenian Chapel in Afghanistan. The Chapel has been built in the last several months through the zealous efforts of the Armenian peacekeeping troops currently stationed in the Kunduz province.
His Grace will convey the blessings and gratitude of the Armenian Pontiff to the troops and will present to the Chapel all the necessary liturgical items, which are being brought from the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin.
