Commemoration Day of the Holy Equal-to-the-Apostles Prince Vladimir

Upon completion of the Divine Liturgy, conducted by His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia, concelebrated by His Beatitude Metropolitan Vladimir of Kyiv and All Ukraine and a synaxis of bishops, the many-thousand sacred procession set off to the Far Caves of the Kyiv Caves Monastery.

Upon completion of the prayerful procession His Holiness Kirill, Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia conducted the prayer service to the Holy Baptizer of Rus.
The primate of the Russian Orthodox Church addressed the faithful from the balcony of the Kyiv Metropolis:

“I greet all of you, my dear, once again on the feast – the commemoration of the Holy Equal-to-the-Apostles Prince Vladimir. Here, on the Kyivan hills, in the place of the Russian baptismal font we prayed together with you for our life, for healing of the diseases, for the assistance in our affairs, on overcoming troubles, on unity of our Church, on overcoming the divisions. We prayed of the great Holy Rus whose spirit dwells today upon the brotherly nations.

We prayed to day for His Beatitude Vladimir, Metropolitan of Kyiv and All Ukraine, so that the Lord, on his name day heard our prayer and granted him physical health, power and firmness of spirit, wisdom and His assistance in his ministry for the Ukrainian nation and the Holy Church.

I have forever saved in my memory this joint prayer and your love. I ask you to pray for me that the Lord gave me forces to bear this patriarchal cross with a single purpose: that the glory of God reflected in the lives of people, that the Orthodox faith was a foundation of our life, that the Christian convictions helped me to find right solutions in our everyday life.”
