Children’s joy in the courtyard of the church of St.Luke on Kosutnjak

His Holiness Irinej, Serbian Patriarch consecrated on Sunday, Jule 17, 2011 in the courtyard of the church of St. Luke the Apostle on Kosutnjak a new hall of the parish house and opened a children park which was built specially for children of this neighbourhood by the City Municipality of Rakovica and Svetosavsko Zvonce.

This solemn day began with the Holy Hierarchal Liturgy in a presence of many believers who came not only from the parish of St. Luke’s church but also from other parts of town.

During the Holy Liturgy the Patriarch ordained protosyngellos David (Perovic) an archimandrite.

At the end of the Holy Liturgy, in a presence of Mr. Srdjan Sreckovic, minister of Faith and Diaspora, Patriarch Irinej presented gramatas to deserving believers for showed love and ardor towards the Serbian Orthodox Church, and especially for the invested efforts and contribution during the construction of the church hall and an auxiliary building in the courtyard of the church of St. Luke the Apostle on Kosutnjak as well as having credit for setting up and regulation of the children’s park in the courtyard of the church. The Patriarchal Grammata was presented to Mr. Ivan Ivanov, Mr. Vesko Raznjatovic, Mr. Vuk Nikitovic, Mr. Andrija Drca, Mr. Zarko Vukovic, Mr. Vladimir Pavlovic, Mr. Zoran Orlovic, Mrs. Danica Draskovic, Mr. Bojan Milic, president of the Municipality of Rakovica and Mr. Mirko Jovanovic, clerk at the Municipality.

At the end of the Holy Liturgy, His Holiness along with the priesthood consecrated a new hall of the house which space would be used for missionary activities of this Diocese such as: lectures, Orthodox panels, book promotions etc.

With a great excitement and joy, smiling and playful little ones were awaiting the arrival of the Patriarch and the grand opening of their park. His Holiness Patriarch Irinej while he was strolling through the park of joy, games and knowledge asked curiously for each of the content how worked and what meant to be.

The main assistants to His Holiness were actually kids who, through games, presented each of playrooms.
